PAINTED WORDS

let me paint you my picture with words
stretching the canvas of paper
laying out the pallet of colorful lexicon
my pens the lovely brushes
ahh, not complete with out the water
to wash and blend

bring my mind to the task, I wash in the first word
my pen moves faster now that there is color to see
looking up to the sky at clouds, inspiration takes me
I see a flash of movement and the words come to life
the painted poem half finish I now stand back and look
repaint over words that don't fit and darken ones that do
movement slows now for I know I am through
there is nothing more I can say or do
knowing the hardest part though is yet to come
to let others gaze and contemplate my painting of love.

EXCERPTS

loves Evolution

Seeking the rhythm and rhyme of love
for there is a flow to adoration's evolution
desire to ride the cresting waves
slide down the hallow halls of time
move in the darkness of the soul
bring out light of dawn, toss it to the sky
watch it explode like fire works in the sun
be blinded by the sparks and burned
when the embers fall back to earth
lift the ash and taste, rub it on the psyche
press it into the flesh, bite it like an apple
look deep into the core, remove the seeds
plant them in another's heart and watch love grow
such is the rhythm and rhyme of growing love

NATURE

Some where in the night
frogs croak, on lilly pads
cats come out and hunt
owls blink high in trees

Somewhere in the night
birds go nest, until dawn
moths seek out the light
bats come out of caves

somewhere in the night
deer feed by road sides
fish feed in the shallows
a child drifts in dreams

FAMILY VALUES

SWEET BABY GIRL

loneliness, starts in the eyes
one can see deep into the soul
recesses of the mind, calling out
a void of the women she once was
pinning for the man she once loved
till the day he died, she was babe girl
in his eyes she never aged

Smiles on her face when she remembers
days long ago, they shared love and laugher
A passion born of childhood dreams
became adults sweet cravings in bloom
she awaits the day to join her mate
but until then, she lives in dreams
sweet and pure of the man who called her
his sweet babe girl

VISION/PHILOSOPHY

Monster Within

Wonder what would happen if we wore ugly on our skin
I have seen happiness on a face
pain and suffering on a body
but some how the hate monster hides within
would he come out as welts and boils
or would he then just hide in plain sight
putting on some guise of a pretty face
would you know him if you saw him
wondering if it would come out on his breath
all the poison and hate he as spews
must have rotted his insides  to a putrid mess
but I fear this is just a dream and
the hate monsters inside will continue to hide
